ATPCO employee published in IT trade publicationFor immediate release Mano Mathai, a longtime ATPCO employee, was published in the August/September issue of z/Journal, an IT trade publication for users of IBM mainframe computer systems. Ms. Mathai’s feature article, Performance Management Essentials to IT Success, discussed ways in which ATPCO’s IT department has improved its system performance while reducing costs and relieving resources for new products and services. Ms. Mathai is an Application Performance Specialist at ATPCO. She has been with the company for nearly 30 years, serving in a variety of capacities from application developer to software architect. She has a Master’s degree in electrical engineering and has significant experience in Integrated Database Management Systems (IDMS), IBM DB2 data servers, and Customer Information Control Systems (CICS), among other areas. During her career at ATPCO, Ms. Mathai has assumed a leadership role in a variety of new and established IT projects. She was an integral part of the original redevelopment of ATPCO’s fares system in the late 1980s. In that project, Ms. Mathai served as database and software designer, as well as development coordinator, assisting in the prototyping, benchmarking and testing of the system. Later, she helped the company prepare for its Y2K conversion and published a detailed paper about ATPCO’s Y2K strategy in Enterprise Systems journal. Most recently, Ms. Mathai has focused her efforts in the areas of system performance, efficiency and reengineering.
